INNA VISION, THE STEPPAS, & ANIMO CRUZ

A decade after Inna Vision was born on Maui, the roots reggae band continues to motivate and elevate consciousness by spreading aloha and positive vibes all over the world. They have evolved from the slow-trance chord progressions that are the fundamentals of roots reggae by blending the upbeat influences of contemporary Reggae, Dancehall and Hip Hop. That evolution and inspiration took “the vision” to Reggae on the River, California Roots Festival, Reggae on the Hills, Pure Aloha Festival and Hawaii’s Mayjah Rayjah. Founded in 2005 by lead singer and bassist Koa Lopes, Inna Vision has played in more than 100 cities across America with their friends Tribal Seeds, Fortunate Youth, New Kingston, and The Steppas. They were blessed to share stages with Damian Marley, SOJA, Rebelution, Collie Buddz and wrapped up a wild 2015 with three back-to-back tours with international reggae icon J Boog. An ever-changing line up of singers and musicians created their catalogue of 4 full-length albums, 4 EP’s and numerous singles that have impacted iTunes and climbed the Billboard international charts. Inna Vision’s tracks cracked the iTunes Top 10, some of their Youtube videos have been viewed more than 250,000 times and they are one of Pandora’s most streamed Hawaii reggae bands. “Reggae Music makes us feel like we can’t die. To be blessed with the gift, lift up spiritualist, through thespeakers abyss, that is where we will be.”

The Steppas, a local band from the Big Island of Hawaii started in 2010. Band members include Star Alaniz, Kekolu Pavao, Makana Rossetti, Samuel Ikeda and Paul Battad. The Steppas have toured over 23 states in the United States, over 80 cities and have completed 7 full tours supporting Tribal Seeds, Fortunate Youth, New Kingston, Through the Roots and Many More. The Steppas have released two EP’s and 1 full length album. In 2011, The Steppas EP placed #6 on iTunes Reggae Charts. In 2012, their original “The Love Shack,” hit #6 in the United States Billboard Reggae Charts and #2 on the iTunes Reggae Charts. In 2014, the original “To you, From we,” hit #2 on the United States Billboard Charts and #1 on the iTunes Reggae Charts. They are set to release a brand new album in 2016, the album is yet to be named. The Steppas, have solidified their movement as one of Hawaii’s premier reggae bands. Their sound is unique, combining a fusion of roots, rock, ska, and occasional lover’s reggae. Many of their songs have been covered on YouTube and entertainers nationwide have performed songs written originally by The Steppas. The Steppas have quickly caught the attention of so many people, but their fan-base is not limited only to Hawaii or to young adults, as their songs have caught worldwide recognition and attention. The Steppas overall goal is to teach people, especially the youth that no matter what adversities we face in life, dreams really do come true if we never give up, we continue reaching for our goals and we keep Steppin!

What started out as a live Roots Jam band, Animo Cruz has grown to a band touring California with an energetic sound that captures the edgy surf yet relaxed beach lifestyle that is Santa Cruz.
