While the albums won him a devoted fanbase, especially in the San Francisco area, his mainstream success was scarce, although he was featured in 2pac’s “Only God Can Judge Me.” In 1995 (see 1995 in music), 4-Tay released I’ll Be Around, then Off Parole (1996, 1996 in music), 4 tha Hard Way (1997, 1997 in music), Introduction to the Mackin (1999, 1999 in music), and the re-release of Off Parole (2002, 2002 in music)). Gangsta Gumbo was released in 2003.

Skanks Roots Project is a reggae group formed from musicians around California. The group formed as a collaboration idea of Dj Skanks and musician, producer, E.N Young (member of Tribal Seeds). SRP consist of Eddie Blunt (High Tide), J. Rips (KeepItLit), Danny Dread (Roots Covenant), Chris Murray (High Tide), Samuel Guest, Mike E.P and have regular guest appearances by Lexy Love and Animo. All members have met over the past few years at one point or another during shows and recording sessions. They formed as an official group at the end of 2012 at Imperial Sound Recording Studio in Southern California. Combining that San Diego roots vibe that Blunt, Young, and Dread bring to the table and lacing it with the NorCal flavor of Skanks, Rips, and Animo…it truly is a west coast bridge blessed by Jah!
